  1. yeah blochs arn't that good they dont break in fast my dance studio actually doesn't advise students to use blochs but i use grishkos and i love them they break in very fast also sufix (spelling) are very soft shoes if thats what you are looking for

  2. I use Studios II  (Hard Insole) from Freed of London, i have a high arch.  Hope this helps.

  3. I have a high arch and a wide foot as well, and I wear Freed Classics, but they don't last very long and are quite expensive. My dance teacher suggested Grishko fouettes (I don't think that's spelled right) so you might want to try those.

  4. aaah I just had Russian Pointe I felt the same way. I didn;t like how they broke in. But now I am using Bloch's "European Balance" and they work wonders! I don't have wide feet but I still think they might work for you, if you can, I suggest you trying them on at a local dance store. Grishco Elite is a great Pointe Shoe for wide feet. They also help with balancing and have really good features. I would recommend any kind of Grishco to you, you should try them out. And I personally think that Bloch has good shoes, they work well for me.

If you want to read descriptions of other pointe shoes it may help you find more exactly what you are looking for. You can go to discount dance and they have many makes of pointe shoes with a description of each. You can find the Grishco Elite's there and almost any other kind of shoe. http://www.discountdance.com/index.php Just go here and click on "Shoes" at the top, click that , and on the new opened page there will be "Pointe Shoes" on the list of the left hand side.  Just click on the pair you would like a description for :-)

Good Luck & I hope you find what you are looking for!

  5. bloch are good shoes for wide feet and you can get a 3/4 shank if you want in bloch. i used freeds quite a bit and gaynor mindens can be ordered almost custom. gaynors are considered a cheating shoe, but i used them for three years. i loved them. theres no point in suffering if you dont have to and they last forever.

  6. I actually like bloch quiet a bit...its wat i mainly use..and ive tried many of other kinds. I guess everyones feet r diff...but also Freed are good shoes. U can get them at discount dance for like 68 dollars..and they are my fav.

  7. I'v used soooooooooo many pointe shoes in my 6 years of being a ponite student personally i hate blotch i find i can really feel my toes being ontop of each other and they just aren't comfy at all i have 3 pairs of pointe shoes that i currently use i use

    freed of london 109$

    gaynor-minden 125$

    and

    capezio79$

and i have a size 10 foot and very wide feet

out of all of those i really love and ador

gaynor minden they are 125$ they are very comfortable i would wear them 24/7 if i could

i use thease for practice competition and recital so i have 2 pairs of thease (man do i own alot of pointe shoes i also use my other pointe shoes for practice) the best thing you can do is book a pointe shoes fitting and they will find you all the shoes you that you can wear and find you the best shoes for you feet but i would choose the from the three i have listed above

when you think about comfort it's also the comfort or the toe pillows (thats what i call them) you want to get the best ones you can find so your toes aren't in major pain get those and then look for your shoes then you will find the most comfortable shoes possible that also work very well and don't hurt your feet

  8. I use cappezios, I love them

  9. Pointe shoes are very personal. My favorite at the moment are my Gaynor-Mindens, because they are so comfy. They are sometimes considered cheat shoes, but as i have never considered dancing professional, I go for comfort. Many people find bloch shoes aren't best for them, but who is to say they wouldn't work for you? Your best bet is to go to your dance store and try on as many pairs as possible, and see which feels best. You shouldn't chose a shoe just because the brand is well like you should choose it because it fits your feet.

  10. Hello, Ive used both Grishko and Bloch. Bloch has a great platform for beginning pointe users. Its very wide, and makes its much easier to balance, while building up strength. However, these shoes tended to break in very quickly, so if your looking for a long term pointe shoe, i wouldn't recommend these. Grishko are one of the most versatile pointe shoes i have ever seen. I have very wide, and small feet, and Grishko's fit me perfectly. My good friend angela has long, narrow feet, and Grishko fit well on her also. They tend to hold up fairly well, lasting much longer than the Bloch's, which i previously mentioned. I did have one experience where the shank snapped when i was on pointe, but it could have been from a faulty shoe. Hope this information was somewhat useful!
