Question:

New School, freaking out!!!!?

I'm starting a new High School tomorrow, it's going to be my Junior year and it's twice as large as my old school.

These are the two major problems I think I might face:

Lockers. My old school didn't have them (Small school) and I'm worried that I'll be late for class if I have to run all the way to my locker to get my books. Any tips?

Who to sit with at lunch. What do I do? I know it'll take a few weeks to make friends, so who do I sit with? Plus, I don't eat lunch, I just have a big breakfast and wait until I go home, so that might be awkward as well. With my old friends I usually just read and listened to music with them at lunch. Would it be over stepping boundaries for me to ask someone I don't really know if I could sit with them?

Those are the two factors that are making me the most nervous, otherwise I think I'm well prepared enough for anything else that might happen.

Thanks!

  1. for your locker issues, dont worry about it too much.

you should carry around your books and folders for a few classes if you will not have time to go to your locker.

    and your lunch issues..

lunch is a critical part of larger high schools.

i suggest not eating a big breakfast.

and its not out of boundaries at all to ask someone if you can sit with them.

just be friendly, and try to find people that seem to be in the same clique as your old friends. if you do, chances are you'll have more in common with them.

    good luck, and have fun!!

  2. i think you should calm down and dont worry thats what i,ll do

trust me........o and um be your self dont be scared..........o and um if what i said to you dont work out for you didnt hear this from me??????

  3. My school had something like a beach party that let the new kids (like me!) introduce themselves with each other. Maybe it would be a good idea to find the new kids and bond with them before trying the ones from past years. I mean, they're also looking for friends!

  4. you should sit with someone you've had class with. that way you can continue to build your relationship with that person or those people, and you can be a part of their circle. shouldn't take long at all. and o yea, lockers aren't a problem really, just carry the books for the classes you have before lunch with you, and exchange them at your locker later for the rest of your classes. Good luck!
