New South Wales (NSW) completed an easy 17-run win over Queensland in a Big Bash Twenty20 tournament match played at Brisbane.
NSW captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Clark-c2591 won the toss and elected to bat first. The wicket appeared to be a bit slow and that is why Clark chose to bat first. David Warner and Philip Hughes opened the innings for NSW but they were finding it hard to get bat on ball. They
didn’t give their team a start which was expected from them.
Hughes got out after scoring 11 runs off 15 balls. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Usman-Khawaja-c2729 came
in at a difficult stage with his team struggling at 34 for two. This time, Khawaja wasn’t able to rescue his team out of trouble like he did in the previous match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Victoria-c859. He was out after just scoring two runs off six balls.
Warner played a steady innings which is normally not associated with the explosive batsman. He scored 27 runs off 29 balls before getting caught at deep cover.
NSW were in deep trouble with five wickets down for just 70 runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Rohrer-c1139 came together at the crease and helped the team past 100 runs. Henriques scored a good innings of 34 runs in 27 balls before he got out. The dismissal of Henriques
didn’t bother Rohrer at all. He scored an unbeaten 47 runs off just 25 balls and helped his team post a respectable total.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Neser-c1960 took three wickets for Queensland whereas Cutting took two wickets in his spell. In reply to the NSW total, Queensland were below par. The batsmen kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and none of them were able to threaten the NSW bowlers.
There were high expectations from England’s Michael Lumb and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 captain James Hopes, but the batsmen struggled to get runs and got out early.
The only batsman who looked threatening was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Rimmington-c2072. He is not known for his batting but he top-scored in the Queensland innings with 24 runs off just 11 balls. Queensland only managed 123 runs in their 20 overs losing nine wickets. Patrick Cummins
and Sean http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abbott-c41507 took three wickets each for NSW to help their team defend their total.
