I just got a new tattoo today, it was done very safely and hygienically! There was a lot of bleeding during getting my tattoo, and ive just noticed a tiny bit of pus on it! Is this ok, as i only got it done today? Has this happened to anyone else, and was it ok? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

  1. I agree with the first answer. I have a tattoo too and I never had pus..Bleeding yes. You should call the tattoo place. Maybe some hydrogen peroxide for now to dry it out?

Go to that site and read the bottom

  2. dude- either go to the tatt artist OR a doctor...

don't take anyone's advice on here unless they are your tatt artist or a doctor-

no offense anyone, but as it goes with everyone when it comes to tatts-

    every one is different...

    this could be something serious.

  3. sounds like plasma keep an eye on it for redness. but you might just be an oozer

  4. that didn't happen to me, but you should definitely call your tat artist back to get more information, you may need to go to the doc....

  5. it probably is plasma wash it like you are suppose to if anything go to hospital

  6. The only time I had pus leaking from a tattoo was when I got an infection. I was surprised, as I'd never had any problems before with the same salon and same artist, and it was also done safely and hygienically.

First thing I would do is visit the tattooist to see what they say. If you're not happy with the answer they give you, or if it gets worse and swells up, go straight to your GP.

I don't want to worry you at all, but it's better to know.

  7. i don't have a tattoo but my parents and aunt and unlces and friends have gotten a tattoo and that has never happened to them so maybe you should get it checked out but first call your tattoo artist just to safe

  8. I've never had or heard of this, it's probably a good idea to go back to the tattooist, for peace of mind if nothing else.

  9. If you got it today, what you're seeing is plasma (the stuff that your red blood cells float around in... the hole is too small for the red blood cells to poke through, so just plasma comes out). The odds that your body is reacting to an infection this quickly is unlikely.

Follow your artist's advice for aftercare an keep an eye on it. If it starts to get red and puffy in the next couple of days, go to an urgent care facility and get it looked at.

Keep it clean and don't slather lotion on it. A tiny bit a couple of times a day is fine. I only use lotion when my skin gets stiff and if it itches (Aveeno with Oatmeal). I tend to break out if I use too much.
