The programmer on this appliance failed almost immediately when it was first installed. However the appliance still worked ok.The oven section failed to work at all just recently, on inspection I found that the "One shot blow devices" attached to the wire wound resistors had gone open circuit. I replaced the programmer, the cooling fan control circuit board and the mains interference filter, all of which I had bought as spares but not fitted (as I stated the appliance worked fine). The oven worked perfectly for 24 hrs, then again refused to function although the grill section did.On doing a continuity check I again found that one of the "One shot blow devices" attached to the wire wound resistors had gone open circuit. I connected the fan directly to the mains, and it ran perfectly OK, did not get warm, no funny noises or anything else to give me cause to suspect it to be at fault.
Moreover, when the grill is in operation, the fan comes on as it should under the control of the resistor and thermal switch (mounted on the same board as the wire wound resistors), and cuts out after a set period when the grill has been switched off. I am therefore somewhat at a loss to pin down exactly what is at fault, the programmer is not receiving any elec. supply, because the one shot devices have isolated it to give a clear indication of a fault and hence prevent the oven functioning.
It grieves me to have to turn to people int the US for help, but the company who are now responsible for service support on this appliance are completely useless as far as assistance is concerned, they won't put me in touch with one of their service engineers, and because I live on a boat won't come out to me anyway !!. Without someone's technical help I cannot progress the problem, I am a qualified electro/mechanical engineer and will be able to fix the appliance with a bit of help. The gas side of the oven is not involved, the fault I am sure is solely electrical.
I look forward in anticipation to your response.
Kind regards John Hall
