New Years in Paris?

What are some things to do in Paris during New Years?

My friends and I had a fantastic dinner, got some champagne, went to the Champs-Elysees (where the streets are crowded kind of like the Paris version of Times Square minus the ball drop) then went to the banks of the Seine to watch the fireworks.  It was an amazing night with breath-taking fireworks.

Me personally...I would take a bottle of champagne, dress warmly and bring lots of blankets, and watch fireworks from near the Eiffel Tower.

Everything that you would do at any other time!  It's pretty much business as usual except on New Years Day (when lots of stuff is closed).  Pretty much everything is open normal business hours the rest of the time.
