New York Fancy Restaurants

Question

in december im having my sixteenth birthday in the city with my friends, and i plan to go to a nice resturant to get all dressed up for to celebrate. what restaurants are unique, price range no higher then 90 a person, and formal?

There aren't really any restaurants that require formal dress at all times and if a restaurant does have a formal dress night, it will cost way more than 90 dollars per person.

You can of course go to any restaurant you like and dress any way you wish.

Chez Josephine on 42nd and 10th Avenue is a cute restaurant in the Theatre district and is dedicated to the singer Josephine Baker (whom you've probably never heard of, but do some poking around, she has a very interesting story).  It's run by two of her many adopted children and they have a small private room upstairs and it reminds you of a real Parisian bistro but the menu has a decidedly international influence. You can occasionally catch a celebrity there as well.

Another favourite place is Montrachet in Tribeca.  It's a lovely, elegant french modern restaurant.  Areview follows...pay no attention to the part that says the restaurant is closed.  They reopened two years ago.

Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich's Del Posto is a fabulous restaurant and depending on how many people you're having, you can sit in one of the balcony tables that over look the lower dining room.  Since you're not of legal drinking age, you won't be ordering wine (which always sends the tab skyrocketing anyway) so most of the dishes at Del Posto are within your price range.

BAR PITTI in downtown nyc.  Celebrities go there all the time too, I once saw Beyonce.  The food is authentic Italian.  It is fabuous in every sense of the word.  you & your friends will love and have memories for life.  Hope I helped!

my fav restaurant of all time is TAO. The can give you private space upstairs above the three floor but I am not sure of the cost. the food is excellent and you can have an asian theme.. BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY
