New York Giants’ Ahmad Bradshaw will miss practice on Friday and Saturday – NFL News Update
After surprisingly participating in two straight practice sessions, New York Giants’ running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, has said that he will sit out of the practice on Friday and Saturday.
It would mean that Bradshaw will enter the Super Bowl XLVI game against New England Patriots on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis after a gap from the training.
However, that is not going to affect his game-play as missing trainings is a part of his routine. In fact, he has already practised for two days, which could prove to be more than enough.
The Giants are going to practise on Friday as well before going through a walkthrough on Saturday.
Bradshaw has a cracked bone in his foot and he feels pain while taking reps.
Doctors have advised him to undergo a surgery to repair his foot, but Bradshaw is reluctant to have a surgery and prefers resting.
Bradshaw has said that despite missing the trainings, he will be ready to face the Patriots.
The Pats are on a 10-game winning streak and Giants have had an on-and-off season.
When asked about the general perception that the Giants would enter the game as underdog, Bradshaw said that the team considers it as insult.
“We’re going to use it as an insult, and we’re going to play with all our heart. We’re going to give it our all, and we’re going to prove everybody wrong.”
He added that:
“People don’t figure us to be as good as we are. We’re a great team. We’ve got people in the right positions, and we’re clicking at the right time.”
On the other hand, Giants’ coach, Tom Coughlin, does not share the same views. The coach thinks that the team has still a lot to prove and might face a tough time against the Pats.
However, the coach urged the players and the observers to focus more on the game rather than just the talk. He thinks that the actual strength of both the teams will be determined on the field.
Coughlin said:
“We’re still the underdogs and we still have an awful lot to prove. As I said, talk is cheap, play the game. That’s exactly what it is. All of this has to be a part of that as well.”
While Bradshaw gets ready to play against the Pats with full confidence, he must also not ignore the remarks his coach has give.
