New York Giants DE Justin Tuck believes that team confidence will “never waiver” – NFL News
Although New York Giants are on a two-game losing streak with their defence, offence and special teams performing below than average, defensive end Justin Tuck believes that the team confidence will not get hurt.
Currently leading National Football Conference (NFC) East at 6-4, Giants would have had better numbers in the victory column, but for their recent slump.
Tuck has admitted that Giants are certainly capable of having a better record than 6-4, but the player is of the view that downfall in any team’s performance is part of the game.
According to the details present on Giants’ website, Tuck said of the team’s recent run:
“That’s the one thing about football season. Every season is going to have its peaks and valleys. It’s unfortunate, but that’s how it goes. We’re better than a 6-4 team, but that’s where we are now.”
Giants will play six more games after their bye week and will face some quality opponents including New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens.
Tuck further said:
“We have six more, coming out of this bye. It’s a very treacherous six, but the confidence of this football team will never waiver. We have to get back to playing our best ball.”
Meanwhile, Tuck has also said that the bye week will give the players an opportunity to relax. He is of the view that the players should do some soul searching during the bye and point out areas for improvement so as to come out as a better unit after the
gap.
The defensive end said:
“We’ve got to do a good job of looking at ourselves and getting back on track. If not, none of the next six are going to be easy.”
Tuck, just like other players, asserted that the team is well capable of recovering from the slump.
However, Giants must also realise that they have been speaking about improving their performance since the last few weeks, but no significant improvement has been seen. If they keep on pursuing the current losing run, other teams in NFC East, especially
Dallas Cowboys, might get a chance to get past the defending champions.
