New York Giants DE Justin Tuck expected bigger win over Green Bay Packers
Much was made of how the Green Bay Packers were pumped up to avenge last season’s playoff defeat to the New York Giants when the two sides faced each other at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
However, the game looked a massively one-sided affair as the Giants easily brushed aside Green Bay with a 38-10 win.
New York took full advantage of a weakened Green Bay Packers side missing some of their best playmakers as quarterback Eli Manning passed for three touchdowns and 249 yards during the comfortable win.
Wide receivers, Victor Cruz, Andre Brown and Ahmad Bradshaw delivered some big plays, while the defence was not bothered much by Green Bay’s injury ravaged offence as they easily managed to hold of Aaron Rodgers from making things difficult.
Bradshaw, Brown and Cruz all scored a touchdown each but unfortunately Brown went out of the game after breaking his leg.
The comfortable victory over a massive side such as Green Bay showed the confidence of the defending Super Bowl Champions with defensive end Justin Tuck at the post game press conference saying that he expected an even bigger result.
He said:
“That? No.  I saw us playing better. I thought we had a great week of practice.  I thought we in some ways just had a refreshing week off.  People seemed like they were kind of refreshed coming back this week and we had a great week of practice, but Green
Bay’s a great football team.”
Wide receiver Victor Cruz sounded surprised at the openings he got during the game and said:
“They did double-team me when we got further into the green zone a couple times, but there was definitely some openings there that I wasn’t used to so hopefully that trend continues and this time I’ll be a little more prepared for it.”
This was a big win for the Giants as they maintain their hegemony at the top of the National Football Conference East division.
The Giants boast a 7-4 record but will face tough tests in their final five games three of which are on the road.
