New York Giants’ Eli Manning will be rooting for his brother Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning – NFL News
Every sport lover is desperate to see quarterback Peyton Manning back in action after the player missed the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) season owing to a neck injury.
Peyton is set to return to the field in the upcoming season, though there are still some reservations about his health. However, Peyton, who has now joined Denver Broncos, is confident about his chances.
Peyton’s tale is pretty interesting. The only four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league started his professional career with the Indianapolis Colts in 1998. He single-handedly built the franchise and took it to new winning heights.
However, one injury threatened his entire future. As he missed the 2011 season, many thought that Peyton might not be able to take the field again. Peyton’s release by Colts after the 2011 season further supported those doubts.
But Peyton did not lose hope and the star quarterback was never short of options once released by Colts. He was approached by a number of teams and he eventually opted to join Broncos.
Meanwhile, Peyton’s brother Eli Manning kept on supporting his elder brother. Peyton was also present at the Lucas Oil Stadium where Eli led the New York Giants to Super Bowl XLVI victory in Indianapolis back in February this year.
Eli is more than happy to see his brother returning from the injury. Interestingly, Peyton has joined an American Football Conference (AFC) team while Eli plays for a National Football Conference (NFC) team. The two brothers might also face each other in
the next Super Bowl.
According to the details present on the Giants’ official website, Eli said of Peyton’s joining Broncos:
"I talked to Peyton through the process, obviously, and tried to give him any help that I could or answer questions about certain teams and coaches that I'd been with over the years. Ultimately, he knew he had to go with the spot that he felt was best for
him.”
He added:
“I hope that he gets to the Super Bowl, and I'll try to get to the Super Bowl, and unless this year we happen to be playing each other in that final game, I'll be rooting for him in every situation.”
