New York Giants’ Justin Tuck on loss against Pittsburgh Steelers: We didn’t play our best football
Just like every other player representing the New York Giants, defensive end Justin Tuck has also expressed disappointment and frustration over the team’s defeat against Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9 game.
Tuck, who had three solo tackles and two sacks against Steelers, was of the view that the Giants did not play their best football against Steelers.
That being said, the defensive end did not take away credit from the Steelers, who were certainly a better team on the field.
The Giants did not make any excuse for the defeat and they knew that their own flaws shaped the outcome of the game.
According to the details present on Giants’ website, Tuck said of the defeat:
“It’s pretty frustrating. I don’t know where it ranks on my frustration scale, but we had our chances to win this one. There’s a lot of people wanting us to win it, and just like Eli [Manning] said, you don’t make any excuses about it. We were prepared
to play our best tonight and we didn’t. That’s a great football team out there, so they didn’t need any help from us, but like I said, we didn’t play our best football tonight.”
Tuck and other players are well aware of importance of this time of the season. The Giants played quite well in the first half of the last season, but they slumped in the second half and lost five of their last eight games. They were lucky to reach the playoffs
despite the slump.
However, everyone is hoping not to experience the same downfall this time around. Tuck has asserted that this defeat is not going to hurt the morale of the players and that they will give their best shot to get victory in Week 10 game against Cincinnati
Bengals.
The defensive end said:
“We played hard, we had our shots, but hopefully we can rectify all that next week.”
Giants’ victory over Bengals will take them to their bye with a lot of confidence. However, if the result comes otherwise, the defending champions will have a lot of worries to deal with in the bye.
