New York Giants LB Mathias Kiwanuka responds to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones – NFL News
It was not long ago when Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones expressed a desire to beat the “Giants a*s”. Jones was apparently frustrated to see the Cowboys’ National Football Conference (NFC) East division rivals New York Giants achieving
more success.
The Giants did not respond to those comments when they were made back in July, but Giants linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka has now taken a shot at Jones.
Talking on WFAN radio, Kiwanuka said of Jones’ comments:
"He should, he should. The New York Giants have been whupping his a*s for a long time. I mean it has got to be tough on the outside looking in on all these championships lately.”
He added:
"But that is the feeling I feel like everybody in the league has, and what they should have. Because when you are on top, everybody should be wanting to knock you off."
Earlier in July, Jones said to the fans:
"Y'all should come to that (Cowboys) stadium and watch us beat the New York Giants' a*s."
The Cowboys were defeated twice by the Giants last season. Their loss in the regular season finale against Giants forced them out of the season while Giants qualified for the playoffs.
The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl and Jones was frustrated because his team had performed well throughout the regular season, but it slumped towards the end and the Giants grabbed the opportunity to accelerate.
The Giants and Cowboys will once again face each other as they are scheduled to play two games against each other in the 2012 season.
Both teams will start proceedings for the season by facing each other in the season opener while their next meeting will take place in Week 8.
Cowboys are coming off with a 3-1 preseason record while Giants have won two out of four games this preseason.
As there is less than a week left to the start of the season, it is expected that both teams will be involved in trash talk. It is a common practice in the league to see players of two teams taking a shot at each other before their meeting on the field.
