New York Giants OC Kevin Gilbride shares views on Baltimore Ravens – NFL News
The New York Giants know that the Baltimore Ravens have had a few issues of late due to injuries to many of their key players, but that has not allowed the defending champions to take the Ravens lightly.
Giants’ offence, which is the main cause of worry for the entire team, is not going to get an easy time from the Ravens who are on a three-game losing streak, but have already qualified for the playoffs.
Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, who has to deal with a number of issues other than quarterback Eli Manning’s average performance this season, has shared his views on the Ravens, saying that even though they have an injury-plagued roster, they
can give tough challenge to the Giants.
Ravens defence has not been able to display a good show in the last three defeats and if the defence struggles again, the Giants will have a chance to dominate the game, only if their offence is up to the mark, which has not been seen quite often this season.
Gilbride maintained that the Ravens are a powerful team with better players at many positions. The offensive coordinator also mentioned that it will not be easy for the defending champions to get consistent running game. According to the details present
on Giants’ website, he said:
“They’ve had some injuries with their linebackers, so I’m sure they’re feeling inconsistent, but we see the ability level. We see the sparks as a good thing. We know we have our challenges. You couple that with: they’re one of those teams that’s going to
make it difficult to get in a rhythm because they pressure so much. They’re going to be willing to gamble and take chances and sometimes it’s hard to get a consistent movement package going, but what you hope is that there’s going to be some chances for some
big plays and you capitalize on them when they’re available.”
Giants have two more games to play in the 2012 regular season and they must win both of them if they want to secure a playoff berth. A defeat against the Ravens could eliminate them from the season.
