New York Giants QB Eli Manning says playing “best football” can give win over Baltimore Ravens – NFL News
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has said that his team can get a win over the threatening Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 game if the defending Super Bowl champions play their best football.
Coming off a 0-34 defeat against Atlanta Falcons, the Giants offence face a daunting task of taking on the Ravens.
The Ravens generally have a pretty solid defensive line, but this season the defence has somewhat disappointed them. Still, the defence is enough to deal with a team that is coming off a whitewash.
The game does not only provide a chance for the Giants to recover from the recent loss, but it is much more crucial. If the Giants fail to win this encounter, the season might well be over for them. So nothing but the best football can save them.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Manning said of facing the Ravens:
“Well, it’s going to take for us to go out there and play our best football. That’s what we expect, that’s what we’re working on and they’re a good team.”
Talking about the Ravens, the Giants quarterback said:
“They’re talented, and they’ve got some injuries, but they might get some guys back. We don’t know what that circumstance is, but we’ve got to have a great plan, go out and play the style of football we know we can play.”
Manning also maintained that he realises the gravity of the situation the Giants are facing at the moment. The defending champions cannot even think of being eliminated without having an actual chance of defending their title.
There is a lot at stake, and a smart performance from the Giants, just like they showed in the last season’s playoffs, can certainly save them.
“We know what we’re playing for, said Manning, adding that Giants are practising hard during the week and will continue to do so, and carry the momentum into the game.
When asked if the team will be able to recover from the last week’s loss, Manning said:
“Whether you’ve played your best game or your worst game, each week you go in confident.”
