New York Giants cautious against Washington Redskins for Week 15 game – NFL News
New York Giants had a bad start to the National Football League current season as they were defeated by Washington Redskins 28-14. After 12 games, both the teams are going to face each other another time, but the stakes are much higher now.
The Giants are tied for the first spot in the National Football Conference East division with Dallas Cowboys and a loss can badly hurt their chances of reaching the playoffs. On the other hand, Redskins are not eyeing a playoff spot, but they can put obstacles
in Giants’ way. That’s why the Giants are cautious and do not want to take any risk this weekend.
Wide receiver Victor Cruz said that his team would display a much improved performance this time and hoped to get a victory. He accepted that his team had underestimated the Redskins at the start of the season and paid the price.
“I think we understand that nothing’s granted, that nothing’s given to us,” he said. “We have to go out and take it. I think we kind of approached that game thinking that because of how we’ve owned the Redskins in the past that they were kind of just going
to lay down for us and we didn’t have to work as hard or play as hard.”
Cruz, who has started four of the 13 games he has played this season, has said that his team has improved and the players are going to take the field with a different and strong mental approach this time.
“But I think this time around, we’re a different team. I think we have a different mentality. And I think we’ll play better this game as opposed to how we did in Game One.”
Although the Redskins are not going to reach the playoffs, they want to close the season as positively as possible. Redskins’ Coach Mike Shanahan tried to cheer the fans saying that his players are going to give their best against the Giants
Giants have got three games left in the regular season. At the moment they are 7-6. After the Redskins, they will face New York Jets in week 16. They will play their last game of the regular season against Dallas Cowboys.
