New York Giants’ defensive end Justin Tuck unsure about reason for failures – NFL News
The recent defeat New York Giants faced at the hands of the undefeated Green Bay Packers in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season at the MetLife Stadium was their fourth in a row. They have moved to 6-6
from 6-2 during the last four weeks and are placed second in the National Football Conference East division ranking.
Defensive end Justin Tuck is unable to cite any reason for the recent slump and said that the players have mental lapses, but he did not know the cause behind them.
"Physically I think we can play with anybody in the country," Tuck said. "Mentally I think sometimes we have those lapses. Why? I don't know."
Giants were leading the NFC East division before the collapse. Their misery began when they lost against San Francisco 49ers 27-20 in the week-10 game. Next Sunday, Philadelphia Eagles crushed them 17-10. During the week-12 encounter,
New Orleans Saints overpowered Giants 49-24.
This Sunday, it was undefeated Green Bay Packers that emerged winner in a thrilling encounter. Giants did give a tough time to affect the perfection Packers have maintained since the last season, but fell a step short of winning
the game.
“I know the Saints are a great football team but nobody would say the Saints are better than the Packers,” Tuck said. “So how did we come out one week and play like we did and then come out this week and play like we did? And two
weeks ago play like we did against Philly and go out to San Francisco and have an opportunity to beat them out there?”
Giants have got four more games left in the season. They are a game short of Dallas Cowboys that is leading the NFC East division with seven victories and five defeats.
In their last four encounters, Giants are going to face Cowboys twice, besides playing against Washington Redskins and New York Jets.
To secure a playoff-spot by topping the division, they should win all of the four games.
Tuck wants his side to win rest of the four games and said that it would give them a healthy advantage to enter the postseason with a four-game winning streak.
