New York Giants desperate to win as they face New Orleans Saints – NFL Week 14 Preview
With fading postseason hopes, New Orleans Saints are going to visit New York Giants in Week 14 game on Sunday, December 9, 2012, at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.
Giants, who are the leaders of National Football Conference (NFC) East, had a 16-17 loss against their division rivals Washington Redskins last week.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning had an average performance in the game as he completed 20 of 33 passes for 280 yards and scored one touchdown.
He has struggled to perform well on a few occasions and his performance is certainly not better than last season. On the other hand, Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been performing better than Manning, though he, too, has faced a lot of troubles on the
field.
Giants have four games left in the season and they want to win all of them because other teams in the division are coming close to them.
Talking about why it is necessary for them to win four more games in the season, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said:
"I am looking at it one game at a time, knowing full well it's a four-game season and we have to win really every one of our games. That's how I look at it. It's going to be win the games that are presented, the one that is right in front of you."
If Giants lose even a game and anyone from Redskins and Dallas Cowboys win their games then it will get difficult for Giants to win the division.
Saints, who started their season with four defeats, are again back to two-game losing streak. They lost their last game against Atlanta Falcons by 13-23 on Thursday, November 29.
Brees struggled badly in that game. He was intercepted five times by Falcons. He completed 28 of 50 for 341 yards and did not score any touchdown.
In order to save the team from getting further defeats, Brees has to bring a few improvements in his performance.
Talking about Giants, Brees said:
"We're playing the defending world champs in their house, and the last three don't mean anything unless we win this one. The Giants have played in these types of games playoff games before the playoffs. That's kind of the situation we're in."
At 5-7, Saints have to save their postseason chances by winning remaining games of the season.
