New York Giants frustrated after two straight defeats – NFL News
After facing two consecutive defeats, one at the hands of San Francisco 49ers and other against Philadelphia Eagles in the week 10 and 11 respectively of the National Football League current season, New York Giants are really frustrated
and angry amid disappointment over their game-play.
Giants defeated New England Patriots 24-20 in the ninth week of the season to get their third straight win. However, the team with only one loss this season, San Francisco 49ers (9-1), outplayed them 27-20 in the week 10. The latest
defeat for Giants 17-10 came at the hands of Eagles (4-6) in the week 11.
Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin was furious after the recent loss and said that the team’s offense was miserable. Talking about the losses, he said, "We had 29 yards rushing, which is about as pathetic as you can get. Our offensive
line was completely outplayed by the front eight of Philadelphia."
Running back Brandon Jacobs also shares the same views and said that it was the worst performance he had seen in his seven-year career. He admitted that he was not playing up to the mark and said that he would try to improve his
performance in the next games.
Defensive tackle Chris Canty was discontented after the loss and said that Giants missed the opportunity to secure the top spot in the division ranking.
"It was an opportunity lost,” Canty said. "It was an opportunity to secure first place in our division, at home, in front of our fans. It was a great atmosphere. You couldn't ask for a better evening to play football. We just went
out there and didn't execute. We didn't match their intensity. We got punched in the mouth, and we didn't do anything about it."
He further said that the team has to improve its game if it wants to be the leader-board.
Cornerback Antrel Rolle thinks that his team is capable of performing well and is better than many other teams of the league. He also said that Giants will have to prove themselves and show the world that they are a great team.
Giants have won six out of 10 games this season. With an average of 364.6 yards (281.4 passing yards and 83.2 rushing yards) per game, they are placed at second spot in the National Football League East division. They would have
clinched the top spot had they won the game against Eagles.
