New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin shares his views on Baltimore Ravens – NFL News
Although the Baltimore Ravens have lost three games in a row, they are still a force to reckon with, and can give tough time to any opponent any time.
This is something that Tom Coughlin, the head coach of defending Super Bowl champions New York Giants, has also acknowledged.
The Giants will face the Ravens in Week 16, and while the latter has already qualified for the playoffs, the defending champions will fight to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Giants are tied atop National Football Conference (NFC) East at 8-6 with Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. Ravens, on the other hand, are leading NFC North at 9-5.
The Ravens are coming off a three-game losing streak, but the Giants’ record is not that good either. The defending champions are coming off a humiliating 0-34 loss against Atlanta Falcons.
As the Giants hit the practice field this week, they had a clear goal in mind: Win the remaining two games and secure a playoff berth.
However, the task is not going to be easy as the Ravens, who have been consistently qualifying for the playoffs since the last few years, pose a strong threat to the Giants.
Sharing his views about the Ravens, Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said, via Giants’ website:
“This week, we prepare for the Baltimore Ravens, a team that played for the AFC Championship last year. A very talented football team that is 9-5, a team that has long been known for their physical play. They’re a big, massive, defensive football team.”
He added:
“They’ve lost the three games in a row here at this point in the season, but they are in the playoffs and we certainly know, having played them in the past in the pre-season and watched their progress throughout the year, that they are a very physical football
team and very, very talented.”
Giants and Ravens have faced each other only four times. Ravens won the first three meetings, in 1997, 2001 and 2004 respectively. Giants won the fourth meeting that took place in 2008. These teams have also faced each other in preseason games.
