New York Giants not ignoring Philadelphia Eagles’ injured Michael Vick – NFL News
Although Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Michael Vick did not practise on Wednesday and his participation in the next game is doubtful, New York Giants are not ready to accept that Vick will miss the match. Both teams will
face each other in the week 11 encounter of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
In the week 10 games against Arizona Cardinals, Vick suffered injury in the form of two broken ribs. He played most part of the game then, but did not show up in the practice session in the current week. His absence from the session
has given birth to the questions regarding his participation in the match against Giants.
Giants, on the other hand, believe that Vick will play the next game and expect that he will start the game for Eagles.
“I am not going to believe that Michael Vick won’t play until I see him not jog out there,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said addressing a news conference.
Earlier, Eagles’ coach Andy Reid also refrained from speculating about the final team he would select against Giants and said that it was too early to tell if Vick would play. Vick has participated in nine games this season recording
11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
In the absence of Vick, Vince Young could get a chance to start the game for Eagles. Young feels that he is getting better and said that he is ready to replace Vick. On Wednesday after the practice session, he said that he had
been behind the scenes, studying the plays and improving his game.
Meanwhile, Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle has said that no matter who starts the game for Eagles, his team is going to prepare as if Vick is the starter.
“We haven’t seen much of Vince Young so we are going to prepare as if Vick is a starter and in my eyes he is going to be there come Sunday. It’s a really tough game up ahead. If he finished the game out last week with broken ribs,
why not go play this week. That's the way I look at, so we are going to be prepared either way,” Rolle said.
Giants are the leading the National Football Conference East division whereas Eagles are placed at the third spot in the same division.
