New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning shares his views on game against Dallas Cowboys – NFL News
As New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys prepare to face each other in Week 8 game this weekend, the pregame hype has taken its toll on everyone.
The two National Football Conference (NFC) East rivals share a competitive history and it is always exciting to see these teams playing against each other in games that usually have a lot at stake.
Giants were the ones who defeated Cowboys twice late in the last season to end the latter’s playoff hopes. As this season started, Cowboys defeated the defending champions in the season opener and are hoping to get another victory over them.
However, Giants have certainly improved their performance during the past few weeks and they can give tough time to Cowboys this time.
According to the details present on Giants’ website, quarterback Eli Manning said of his team’s chances against Cowboys:
“We feel that we can play better than we did the first time. We know they’re talented. If we’re going to move the ball and score points, we’re going to have to earn everything.”
Manning also shared his views on the hype the game between these two teams gets. The quarterback said:
“You know, it’s always a big game. It’s usually a close game. We’ve had a great history since I’ve been here. You’ve got to get excited, we’ve got to prepare well, and we’ve got to go out there and play our best football, if we expect to win.”
Currently leading NFC East, Giants can gain a strong advantage over other teams in the division if they defeat Cowboys. They will then have clear edge over Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.
However, Eli is not concerned about how this division is going to shape up at the end of the regular season. The quarterback wants to dedicate his entire attention to the game against Cowboys without thinking of leading the division. He said:
“I think right now, it’s Dallas. That’s really the only thought process.”
Meanwhile, Manning also mentioned that he does not have any rivalry with Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, saying that Giants-Dallas rivalry is already enough.
