New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning upbeat about playing under pressure – NFL News
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is renowned for performing well under pressure, and his record proves that he has led the team miraculously in some very close encounters and during the games when his team had no chance of staging a comeback.
Now again in a pressure situation, Manning is expected to be at his best. The quarterback finds his team in desperate need to get victories or else the defending Super Bowl champions will be sent packing after the regular season, which now only has two more
games to feature.
Giants recently lost a game against the Atlanta Falcons. The defeat has now brought them at a tie with two other teams of National Football Conference (NFC) East, and they can now only qualify for the playoffs as the division leaders if they win their remaining
two games.
Manning believes that the team will respond well to this pressure situation and deliver its best to clinch a playoff berth. According to the details present on the team’s website, Manning said of the team’s situation:
“These are the circumstances you want to be in. You want to be fighting to make it in the playoffs and that’s just football and you understand it’s tough to make the playoffs. You've got to work. You've got to win games. You've got to win important games
and this is a chance. This is as important a game as you can have, this upcoming game, and our mindset is the playoffs have started. This is it. This game right here is huge. It’s the most important game and it’s a must-win game for us.”
Meanwhile, Manning has admitted that there were a number of flaws in the team’s performance against the Falcons, and has hoped to rectify the errors.
However, he did maintain that the players do not lack confidence after the recent defeat and said that they would give a better output in the next two games of the season. Giants have eight victories and six defeats to their name this season. The same record
is shared by two other teams of NFC East, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins.
