New York Giants’ running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, gets second straight practice – NFL News
New York Giants’ running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, showed up for the second straight practice session on Thursday, February 2, 2012, in Indianapolis where his team will take on New England Patriots in the Super Bowl XLVI matchup on Sunday.
Although Bradshaw was once again limited during the training, his unlikely participation in the second straight practice implies that he will be starting the game against Pats.
Bradshaw has a cracked bone in his foot and constant reps in the practice can aggravate his injury.
However, he showed his commitment for the big game and said that he was feeling great after the practice.
"I think it was a surprise just because I haven't been out there on Wednesday in a while," he said.
He added that:
"I just wanted to get out there yesterday and run around and just get the flow of the defences and different things they'll throw at us."
Bradshaw started nine out of 12 games in the regular season in which he had 659 yards on 171 attempts for nine touchdowns.
In the playoff games, he managed 200 yards on 46 attempts.
After the National Football Conference (NFC) championship game against San Francisco 49ers on January 22, Bradshaw rested for around a week before training lightly.
After arriving in Indianapolis it was his second practice.
Giants’ coach, Tom Coughlin, was pleased to see Bradshaw practising and said that the time-off might have provided him the much needed rest.
Coughlin informed that the trainers and the coaches would monitor Bradshaw’s performance before making a decision on his appearance in the game.
He commented about Bradshaw that:
“Hopefully, he’ll get at least one more day in this week which I think really helps him to be able to practise and go through it himself and do it rather than just watch others and watch tape and try to visualise how he would’ve handled that.”
Doctors have suggested Bradshaw to undergo a surgery to repair his damaged foot, but the player is reluctant to have a surgery during the offseason and prefers resting over any other medical treatment.
The Giants are going to practise on Friday as well before going through a walkthrough on Saturday.
