New York Giants’ running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, not up for foot surgery – NFL News Update
New York Giants’ running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, is willing to carry on with present state of his injured right foot and is not in a mood of undergoing a surgery during the National Football League (NFL) offseason.
The injury is not something new for him. It forced him out of a few games in the regular season and when he returned he was still not fully recovered.
However, he was good enough to step on the field and did not hesitate in taking on the opponents.
When asked about whether he plans on undergoing a medical treatment like surgery during the offseason, he said:
"No surgeries. I am tired of surgeries, man.”
He further said that:
"I pray for it every day. Being a running back in this league, I don't think I will ever be that healthy again. That is the nature of the game."
Bradshaw started his professional career for Giants in 2007.
In this regular season, he missed four games and got nine starts in 12 games where he rushed for 659 yards on 171 carries for nine touchdowns.
He has played all the games in the postseason where had 46 carries for 200 yards.
Bradshaw has asserted that he would be ready to go against New England Patriots in the Super Bowl XLVI matchup on February 5, 2012, in Indianapolis.
He is more eager to play the game as he missed the Giants-Packers encounter during the regular season due to the injury.
Meanwhile, Giants coach, Tom Coughlin, has also appreciated Bradshaw’s strength and said that the player is a ‘physical force’.
Coughlin remarked:
"Even if it's not yardage that we want, he's still forcing people to pay a price just to tackle him. He's a physical force. He has a toughness about him that everyone on our team recognises."
It seems that there is nothing that could prevent Bradshaw from participating in the Super Bowl XLVI game – something he deserves.
However, he should also not ignore the fact that prolonged injury can even end his career much earlier than he anticipates.
He should adopt more serious precautionary measures other than just resting.
