New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw “ready to go” – NFL News
New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw did not practise the entire week and was limited in Thursday’s practice, but he seems fit to play against Washington Redskins in Week 7 game, and Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride
have no doubts on the player’s fitness.
Since the last few seasons, Bradshaw has adopted an approach of practising only one day a week before playing any game. This has not hurt his form at all and even though he has dealt with a number of injuries in his career, he seems to be giving his hundred
percent whenever he is on the field.
Bradshaw’s foot injury has been bothering him since the last season, and a sore foot after Week 6 victory against San Francisco 49ers kept him out of practice the entire week before Thursday.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Bradshaw said of playing against Redskins:
“I feel good. There’s no setback and I’m ready to go.”
Bradshaw is certainly a tough player. Playing through so many injuries is not as easy task for anyone, but the running back has been able to go through difficult times rather comfortably. He said:
“I feel like I can fight through a little bit of everything now with the stuff I’ve been through. I just feel like it’s going to take a lot to bring me down. So a lot of hits here and there, it ain’t going to do it.”
Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride has said that playing at running back requires a lot of physical fitness and that Bradshaw has all what is required to be an efficient running back.
He said:
“I don’t think there’s a running back that can play it well if you’re not physically tough, but I still think he has raised the level of the bar, so to speak. You have to appreciate what he brings to the table.”
A day earlier, head coach Tom Coughlin also said that Bradshaw would carry most of the load against Redskins. Coughlin was speaking in the light of running back Andre Brown’s return from an injury.
