New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw stars again in win – NFL News
After staging a superb performance in Week 5 game against Cleveland Browns, New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw registered another impressive show in his team’s Week 6 victory over New York Giants.
Bradshaw took 27 carries and rushed for 116 yards while scoring a touchdown against 49ers. A week earlier, he was handed the ball 30 times and the running back managed to gain 200 yards while scoring one touchdown.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Bradshaw has expressed pleasure on being able to help his team to victories. The running back also appreciated other players for providing him support. He said:
“I knew my O-line was coming out to fight today. When [fullback] Henry [Hynoski] was in there, he led me to the holes and they gave us a couple creases and we were able to make a couple big plays. My hat goes off to those guys. They showed me the way today.”
Giants were very strong on defence against 49ers, who were able to score only a field goal in the entire game.
The defence made the job easy for the offence that just had to ensure getting a few scoring moves to keep the lead intact.
Bradshaw mentioned that the team had planned to rely more on running game against 49ers. He said:
“We knew when we came out the second half, we knew if we came out strong and ran the ball that we could make some things happen. We came in and talked about it at halftime and we were able to figure some things out.”
With the victory, the defending Super Bowl champion also secured top slot in National Football Conference (NFC) East, leaving behind Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys.
Giants’ running game was not only supported by Bradshaw, but by rookie David Wilson as well. He finished the game with 35 yards on seven carries.
The Giants will take on Washington Redskins in Week 7 game and if they keep on showcasing exceptional class on the defence, there is no denying that they will make the playoffs rather easily. However, consistency will be the key to their success.
