New York Giants’ running back Brandon Jacobs hits out at Dallas Cowboys’ fans – NFL News
It is not rare to see players of two teams engaging in a war of words between each other before any crucial encounter, but something unlikely happened on Thursday when New York Giants’ running back, Brandon Jacobs, targeted the fans of Dallas Cowboy saying
that ‘Cowboys fans get on my nerves’.
The two teams are going to face each other on Sunday in the last game of the regular season. It is a win-or-go-home situation where the victor will reach the playoffs.
Earlier, Giants’ defensive end, Justin Tuck, had said that he hated the Cowboys, but Jacobs reached the height by saying that the loyal Cowboys’ fans are obnoxious who keep on saying the team’s praises not just on the field, but everywhere they go.
“Just everywhere you go you’ve got them Dallas fans, running their mouth about Dallas," he said. "They keep going. It’s not really the team and the star and all that. They’re just like any other team in the National Football League if you ask me. But their
fans are the ones that have me really just feeling the way I feel.”
Jacobs also said that he was maintaining his focus on what is at stake rather than the team the Giants will be playing against. However, he praised the Cowboys’ offence and defence and said that a thrilling and competitive game is on the cards.
The Giants and the Cowboys are tied for the first place in the National Football Conference (NFC) East division with eight victories and seven defeats each. So, it is expected the Sunday’s game will be watched by a full house in the stadium.
Considering that, the Cowboys are not going to come alone when they travel to New York. Their fans will also occupy a noticeable portion of the MetLife Stadium to support them.
Giants’ wide receiver, Victor Cruz, acknowledged that there would be many Cowboys’ fans on Sunday, but he maintained that the Giants fans will outweigh them.
“Yeah, Cowboys fans run deep all over the U.S.,” Cruz said. “So I think there’s going to be a lot more Cowboys fans throughout the crowd, Cowboys jerseys and stuff like that.”
On the other hand, the Cowboys have preferred to settle the dispute on the game field. They are not actively involved in the trash-talking as the Giants are, but they do want to take revenge of defeat they received earlier at the hands of the Giants.
