New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle responds to Cincinnati Bengals receiver A.J. Green’s comments
New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle has responded to the comments made by Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, implying that everything will be settled on the field.
Both sides are scheduled to play in Week 10 game this Sunday.
Green earlier remarked that there were some holes in Giants defence. Although Rolle did not get assertive while responding to these comments, he made it clear that his team will give its best effort to beat the Bengals.
Giants are currently leading National Football Conference (NFC) East with six victories and three defeats and will have their bye after Week 10.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Rolle said of Green’s comments:
“I think every defence has holes in it. If our defence has holes in it, then he shouldn’t have a problem exploiting it. The game has to be played on Sunday. The game has to be played on Sunday and we just try and make sure we take our best approach out there
come Sunday and go into our bye 7-3.”
This is not something new from Giants. Many of their players including head coach Tom Coughlin refrain from actively involving in trash talk that, most of the times, is intended to build pre-game hype. Giants tend to respond to any harsh comments from their
opponents on the field by performing well.
That being noted, the Giants also do not get under pressure when their opponents give such remarks. The same has happened in this case as well.
Rolle has said that he will try to perform his duties on the field in the best possible manner to ensure his team’s victory. He said:
“You don’t worry about it. I’m a deep safety. I’m going to play my responsibility and if I get a chance, I’m coming across. He’s a great receiver, though. You can’t take anything from AJ Green.”
Green is indeed among the best receivers and his chemistry with quarterback Andy Dalton is commendable. However, if Bengals want to get past the defending Super Bowl champions, they need a good team effort with equally better performances from offence and
defence.
