New York Giants still disappointed, ready to hit back – NFL News

A loss in the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season opener against the National Football Conference (NFC) East division rivals Dallas Cowboys has certainly left the New York Giants disappointed, but the team is ready to overcome its flaws to defend
its NFL title.
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, who had expressed frustration over the loss soon after the game, was still disappointed when he spoke to reporters on Thursday September 06, a day after the season opener.
According to the details present on the team’s website, the head coach said:
“Still disappointed, that hasn’t changed. I think the players are very sombre; they are remorseful because of an opportunity lost. We had many opportunities that we didn’t take advantage of. We didn’t play well, Dallas played better than we played.”
Giants did not start the game well and there were many flaws in their performance. They fumbled the ball, missed the passes and could not capitalise on the opportunity when any scoring drive went well.
On the other hand, the Cowboys capitalised on the opportunities they got and did not allow the Giants to accelerate.
The Giants did show some rhythm towards the end of the game, but they still could not outscore the Cowboys. Giants quarterback Eli Manning also played well, but he still needs to get a bit better while the players around him on the offensive line need to
put some more efforts to make their quarterback successful.
Since the season has just started, a loss can be absorbed, but the Giants must need to improve, both on offence and defence, to make sure they do not repeat the same flaws. They will play their next game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September
16, and Manning is hopeful that the players will be able to give better output against Tampa Bay.
The Giants quarterback said:
“I think the first game, there’s going to be a lot you can learn from that first or second game and we’ve got to have that mindset and come in next week, have a great week of practice, get better on things and make sure we go and perform better on game day.”
