New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has a “great practice” – NFL News
New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks seems to have been returning to his full fitness after he reportedly had a “great practice” on Wednesday as the Giants prepared to face their National Football Conference (NFC) East rivals Dallas Cowboys in Week
8 game.
Nicks, who suffered an injury in the offseason and missed the preseason games, returned to the field at the start of the regular season. However, he only played two regular season games before getting injured again and had to miss three games.
He returned to the field recently, but stayed limited in the games he played after making a comeback. However, he has now started finding his rhythm and is upbeat about facing Cowboys.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Nicks practised on Wednesday and said of it:
“I’m a lot healthier now, especially over the last couple of weeks. I finally feel like I finally got over the little hump. The last game, I feel like it broke me in a little bit more. First it was the foot and then the knee, today was a great practice for
me. I feel like I got back to myself a little bit. I feel like I’m getting in and out of my routes and having that full confidence back, so I think it will be great week for me.”
In the last two games, Nicks’ participation on the field was limited. Against San Francisco 49ers in Week 6, he gained 44 yards on three catches, while he gained 53 yards on five receptions against Washington Redskins last week.
It is expected that quarterback Eli Manning will trust Nicks more in the game against Cowboys as the receiver is expected to get more playing time.
It must be noted that Giants have already faced a defeat against Cowboys earlier this season and they must win this game so as to maintain their lead in NFC East.
Nicks maintained that the Giants have become a better unit after the loss in the season opener against Cowboys and said that his team is well capable of defeating the Cowboys this time.
