New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz shares his views on victory over Green Bay Packers – NFL News
New York Giants’ victory over Green Bay Packers in Week 12 has come at a very crucial stage. The win has helped them make a fresh start after their bye week before which the Giants had lost two straight games.
Moreover, it has once again strengthened their lead in National Football Conference (NFC) East and they look well on the course to qualify for the playoffs it they manage a few more wins.
Giants’ slump before the bye had troubled everyone, but beating a team like Packers is a fair compensation for the downfall.
Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz knows how important the victory is for them. He shared his views after the win and said, via Giants’ website:
“It was a huge win coming off the bye facing a team like Green Bay. You could easily come in and falter and be lackadaisical, but we came out firing and we understood this was a game we needed to win and you could see it in the way we played. We played with
passion, integrity and it really came out tonight.”
Meanwhile, Cruz also expressed satisfaction over the performance of quarterback Eli Manning, who returned to his rhythm against the Packers after playing a few dull games.
Manning-led offence was dominant right from the start of the game and kept on creating opportunities whenever possible. Cruz and Manning even combined for a scoring move in the second quarter.
Before this game, a lot had been said about Manning’s tired arm, but the quarterback has denied feeling any problem with his arm. Cruz said of Manning’s performance and his return to rhythm:
“It felt good seeing him completing some footballs, getting some energy and getting some crucial third downs that we’re used to making. So it was good to see his arm come back alive and be able to hit us on some crucial plays.”
However, Cruz maintained he did not imply that Manning’s arm was facing some problems. The receiver asserted that Manning was great to watch because the quarterback played the game with a lot of excitement and energy.
