New York Jets’ Antonio Cromartie slams NFL and Players Union
Less than two weeks after New York Jets’ cornerback Antonio Cromartie used expletives to describe quarterback for the New England Patriots Tom Brady, he used similar words for the league and the Players Association Union leaders.
Football would be a lot less exciting without players like Cromartie.
Just two weeks ago, Cromartie was questioned what he thought of Brady by the media, seeing that they were going to be playing against each other later on. Cromartie simply said, “he’s an (expletive), (expletive) him.”
In his latest rant, Cromartie was on both sides of the issue regarding the labour dispute between the NFL and Players Union. His point was simple. They “need to get their (expletive) together and get it done.”
This comes one day after the Jets were kicked out of the running for the Super Bowl for the second year in a row, this time falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game. The Jets squad was asked about what they think of the league’s uncertain
future. The Collective Bargaining Agreement that is currently in place will expire on March 3, and there really haven’t been any serious talks regarding a new agreement.
If there is no new agreement before the old one expires, the league could lock out players, resulting in no 2011 season.
"You've got our head union reps acting like an (expletive), and they got guys acting like them (expletives)," Cromartie told reporters on Monday.
Those who heard Cromartie talk about the Pats before their divisional playoff game are seeing his same old stubborn attitude. He doesn’t care if anyone gets mad at him because of his comments. In his words, "you're basically dealing with people's livelihoods."
"You don't get no information about nothing from the union or the owners," he said.  "To tell the truth, they need to get their d**n minds together and get this (expletive) done and stop bitching about money.  Money ain't nothing."
In reality, money matters more than Cromartie thinks. He is set to become a free agent now, as his first season with the Jets is over.
