New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis disses New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick - NFL News
New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis had much to say on his own team and fierce rivals in an interview on Wednesday with
ESPN.
Joined by New England Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski the two players participated in a word association game leading to some very good news bites.
The cornerback was asked about New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick to which Revis replied to the discomfort of Gronkowski.
"Jerk."
Revis was asked why he had said that and replied.
"Some of the comments he says about the Jets,”
That lead to an awkward moment, with Gronkowski being asked what he thought about the statement, the tight-end dismissed the topic by saying.
"Wow, I wasn't expecting that one,"
This once again showed how the Jets talk too much and do not back it up with results on the pitch.
Gronkowski on the other hand was asked about New York Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, and the tight-end correctly dodged creating a controversy by playing the safe option and replied “Entertainer”.
Revis earlier in the interview had also said that the Jets locker room was in “disarray right now” and after last season frustration amongst players was blown out of proportion.
The star cornerback went on to describe how the problems between players led to increasing frustration with the Jets losing their last three games and missing out on the playoffs for the first time under coach Rex Ryan’s tenure.
"People were just trying to find ways to win. Santonio wanted the ball. It wasn't negative, I think he wanted to be the guy who wins games for us. And then it blew up out of proportion and then it was Santonio is not siding with Mark, and it just blew out
of proportion. And then [then-offensive coordinator Brian] Schotteheimer was in the mix of it too with the play-calling."
Revis went on to describe Tebow as a winner and that he will help the team improve over last season. Gronkowski though went on to say that Tebow would become the “Starter for the Jets” in the new season.
Both players are trying to gather votes to become the face of the new EA Sports video game Madden 13 set to be released on August 28th, 2012.
