New York Jets Crushed by New England Patriots

The New York Jets appeared to be nothing like the playoff contenders that we had been used to seeing over the season. They were just helpless. Their defence pretty much just looked on as the New England’s quarterback put scores over and over again in the
game.
Tom Brady was not intercepted in the game, in fact he has not been intercepted for 7 weeks. He was sacked 3 times but for most of the game he was well protected and had good accuracy. Brady passed 326 yards for 4 touchdowns. The quarterback threw 29 pass
and connected 21. His four touchdowns put the Patriots on track to score 45 points against the Jets.
New York’s offense was lifeless. The Jets scored just once in the game and that was paltry field goal. Mark Sanchez was intercepted 3 times in the game. One of those interceptions could have been a touchdown for New York. The Patriots scored two of their
6 touchdowns of the game from those turnovers. Sanchez was able to pass just 164 yards. He attempted 34 passes and connected with his receivers only 17 times.
The Rush pulled through for New York as it has throughout the season. Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson rushed 64 and 47 yards respectively. When Sanchez’s passing wasn’t working, he tried rushing and in four attempts he covered 20 yards. New York rushed
152 yards in 31 plays averaging almost 5 yards per play.
Usually the strength of New York’s rush would take the pressure off Sanchez but that did not happen against the New England Patriots. No touchdowns were scored, the Jets didn’t even come close except that one time when Sanchez got the Jets to within 9 yards
of touchdown but but that drive ended with an interception.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed 72 yards in 18 attempts. He rushed two touchdowns in the game for New England. Danny Woodhead was the leading receiver for the Patriots but he did not receive a touchdown pass. Woodhead caught 4 passes for 104 yards. Brady threw
touchdown passes to Brandon Tate, Aaron Hernandez, Deion Branch and leading wide receiver Wes Walker.
The Patriots have now established their dominance over the AFC East. Their record now stands at 10-2 which is tied with the Atlanta Falcons and stands a game ahead of their division rivals, the New York Jets.
