New York Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson’s availability in serious doubt – NFL News
New York Jets LaDainian Tomlinson maybe out for the entire week including Thursday’s game against the Denver Broncos.
The running back didn't practice Tuesday putting him in doubt for the game against Broncos. Were the Jets scheduled for a game on Sunday, Tomlinson’s missing out Tuesday’s practice would not have been of much concern. The only
hope Tomlinson stands is that he may feel better the next day but even then the Jets most likely will not to take the risk of including him in Thursday’s game. He may be asked to rest till teams’ week 12 game.
According to other sources Tomlinson will stay away this week. New York Daily News reported a source as saying Tomlinson will be out against the Broncos and Bilal Powell would be replacing him. Powell has not played a single game
this season. An ESPN official seemed to add credibility to the news by posting on twitter that Jets were not hopeful about Tomlinson presence on Thursday.
Neither was Tomlinson optimistic about his availability.
"If the game was Sunday, I don't think I'd have a problem playing," he said. "Being that it is a short week, it adds a little more pressure and it is a little more difficult to do. If I don't play this game, I absolutely will play
against Buffalo (on Nov. 27)."
Tomlinson had sustained a knee injury when his team lost last weekend to the New England Patriots. He has reportedly sustained a sprain his left medial collateral ligament.  Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan confirmed the injury but stopped
short of officially ruling him out.
"I know this: He wants to play," Ryan said. "He's trying to do everything in his power to play. I know the kind of competitor L.T. is, if he thinks he can help the team, he's going to go. Obviously, you have to protect the player
from himself as well."
Tomlinson himself appeared keen on appearing in the game hoping to succeed in convincing the coach about his availability.
Back in 2007, Tomlinson had sustained an injury in the left knee that restricted him in upcoming games.
Safety Brodney Pool is also suffering from a sprained left knee has been ruled out.
