New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan praises New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady – NFL News
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has been going through a praising spree in recent weeks for New England Patriots. Now the coach has hailed Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for working like a machine on the field.
The comments have come ahead of Jets Week 12 tie against Patriots on Thursday, November 22, 2012. Talking with the reporters after the practice session on Tuesday, November 20, Ryan said:
"You can almost say he's a machine back there. The thing about him, he's a machine, yet he's a passionate and fiery leader. You wish he was just a machine. His competitive side elevates his team. That's what you get with those once-in-a-generation-type quarterbacks."
Brady is currently in superb form. The quarterback has an unbeaten 4-0 since he last faced the American Football Conference (AFC) East rivals Jets in Week 7.
In that period, Brady has scored 11 touchdowns and has not thrown a single interception.
Ryan also appreciated the way Patriots offence has kept their winning momentum going. He also admitted overall performance of the Patriots’ offence.
Even though Ryan has a very competitive record against Patriots, the coach admits that Brady has always been successful against Jets. Ryan carried on and said:
"When it mattered most, he delivered and got the victory. We know each other so well. We know enough of Tom Brady to know that if he knows exactly what (defence) you're in, you ... are ... in ... trouble."
Jets defence will certainly be a hard nut to crack for Brady as the team has returned to good form. The defence has jumped to 14 position in the league which is a big improvement considering the number big players out due to injuries.
When Ryan was asked whether he felt sorry for Brady for not having sufficient weapons this time due to injuries, the head coach replied that injuries are part of the game and both will have to deal with it.
