New York Jets’ offence flops again as they lose 7-28 against Seattle Seahawks in Week 10 – NFL Recap
Seattle Seahawks continued their unbeaten home run this season as they beat New York Jets 28-7 in Week 10 game on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at CenturyLink Field, Seattle, Washington.
Seahawks (6-4) are sitting comfortably in the second position in National Football Conference (NFC) West.
Jets (3-6), on the other hand, are lingering at third place in the American Football Conference (AFC) East.
Seahawks’ offence looked in total control throughout the game as they scored touchdowns at regular intervals.
The passing game looked in exquisite touch as both wide receivers Golden Tate and Sidney Rice ended up catching touchdown passes from quarterback Russell Wilson, who was 12 of 19 for 188 yards.
However, the man of the moment was Tate who took just one snap as a quarterback and threw a touchdown pass to Rice who scored twice during the game.
The running game was also spectacular for Seahawks as running back Marshawn Lynch ran for 124 yards and scored a touchdown.
The game also marked the completion of Lynch’s 1,000 yards rushing for this season. According to the Associated Press, Seahawks’ Michael Robinson said:
"It's hard to get 1,000 yards in this league. I'm happy for Marshawn. He congratulated me, and I'm like, 'No, congratulations to you.' That's just the kind of guy he is. He understands it takes all 11 guys to run the ball in this league."
Seahawks’ defence was also up to the mark as they kept Jets’ offence from reaching the end zone throughout the game.
Jets on the other hand struggled massively throughout the game. Their only points of the game came via a 21-yard fumble returned by defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson.
The offence looked literally hopeless as they covered a mere 185 total yards in the game. Quarterback Mark Sanchez continued his poor form and finished with 9 of 22 for just 124 yards and no score.
Tim Tebow again remained limited during the game. He completed all three passes for eight yards and covered 14 yards on four carries. Talking about chances of Jets to reach the playoffs, head coach Rex Ryan said:
"I don't know how many more losses you can spot somebody before you think can make the playoffs, It's about a two percent chance at making the playoffs with the record we have and we are going to take that shot."
Seahawks got the early scoring move as Tate caught a 38-yard pass from Wilson in the opening drive to score a touchdown. Jets then scored via Wilkerson’s fumble return to finish the first quarter 7-7.
It was Seahawks again who got the lead thanks to a one-yard run from Lynch to take the score to 14-7. The score remained the same in the third quarter.
In the final quarter, Seahawks took the game away from Jets as they sealed the victory without two touchdowns.
