New York Jets ready to take on Washington Redskins at the FedEx Field – NFL Week 13 Preview
It would take a miraculous arrangement to change the course Washington Redskins are following this season. Their entry into the playoffs is unlikely, but for a highly unusual drama, which would result in their victory in the rest
of the matches, and defeats of all the other teams in the National Football Conference East division.
New York Jets, on the other hand, have not yet entered the dark and narrow alley. Their chances of making it to the postseason by topping the American Football Conference East division are still very much alive, but are subjected
to an improved performance from their offensive line, especially the quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Hoping to get a step closer to their destination, Jets and Redskins are going to face each other in the week 13 game of the National Football League current season at the FedEx Field on Sunday.
When it comes to wins and defeats, Jets have not been consistent this season. They started the season win two victories, and then slumped thrice. They got back and grabbed a three-game winning streak, but were two games down again.
Last week, they defeated Buffalo Bills 28-24 to register their sixth win of the season.
Jets’ coach Rex Ryan believes that his team is capable of making it to the next round, but is also aware about the flaws his side needs to work on.
“I definitely think we’re a playoff team,” the coach said. “We have to prove it on the field. But I absolutely think we’re a playoff team. And then when we get in there, anything can happen.”
Redskins ended their six-game losing streak last week by defeating Seattle Seahawks 23-17. Jets’ coach was of the view that despite being unimpressive this season, Redskins cannot be taken lightly.
“It’s a tough place to play,” said Ryan. “I’ve coached against the Redskins several times and it’s a tough place. There’s no doubt about it.”
Redskins snapped their losing streak by staging a dramatic comeback last week against Seahawks after scoring two touchdowns and a field goal in the fourth quarter. Coach Mike Shanahan pleased to see his side winning the game and
said that he felt good about the character of the team. He hoped that the players could continue their form in the game against Jets and emerge victorious again.
