Meanwhile, backup quarterback sensation Tim Tebow failed to live up to the expectation with his wildcat package.
Moreover, the team also faced a storm of injury worries as star players like wide receiver Antonio Holmes and cornerback Darrelle Revis got season-ending injuries earlier in the season.
After Week 15, Jets are sitting in second position in the American Football Conference with a 6-8 record.
Week 1: Buffalo Bills
Jets got to a fantastic start as they broke the franchise record for highest number of points in the season opener. The Gang Green thumped Buffalo Bills in a 48-28 victory.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez produced his best performance of the season as he completed 19 out of 27 passes for 266 yards and scored a massive three touchdowns.
The dynamic Tebow did not have a good amount of playing time as he carried the ball on five occasions for just 11 yards.

Week 2: Pittsburgh Steelers
After an astounding victory in Week 1, Jets went down to earth next week as they got a 10-27 beating by Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jets thin defensive line looked vulnerable in absence of Revis. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger utilised the opportunity as he completed 24 out of 31 passes for 275 yards and scored two touchdowns.
On the other hand, Steelers defence managed well in absence of their star safety Troy Polamalu.
This meant limited opportunity for Sanchez who ended up with 10 of 27 for 138 yards and a score.

Jets went back to winning ways in Week 3 with a 23-20 victory over division rivals Miami Dolphins. Kicker Nick Folk got the winning points in overtime with a superb field goal.

Jets went down and out in Week 4 as they were shut out in 0-34 battering by San Francisco 49ers.
Sanchez and company failed to score a single point in the game as they looked completely confined to their own backyard. The quarterback threw an interception during the game and averaged just 3.6 passing yards per throw.
The home fans shouted to see Tebow on the field. However, the backup quarterback got a mere one snap throughout the game.
