New York Jets stars QB Mark Sanchez and WR Santonio Holmes booed at Madison Square Garden - NFL News
Looks like the New York Jets are not too popular among fans of other New York Sports teams. Just a few weeks after Jets backup quarterback, Tim Tebow was booed by the fans at a Major League Baseball (MLB) game as he watched the New York Yankees, two more
Jets players received a bad reception.
Quarterback, Mark Sanchez and wide receiver, Santonio Holmes arrived at the Madison Square Garden to take in the National Basketball Association (NBA) game between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers and received a round of boos by the assembled
crowd as they came on the stadiums giant screen.
Both players though did not seem too concerned with the bad welcome they received and smiled at the cameras while Holmes also waved.
Cornerback Antonio Cromartie was also present at the stadium to watch the game which the Knicks won.
Except for the boos from the crowd what is more interesting is the fact that both players who had daggers drawn against each other at the end of last season seem to be getting along well.
Holmes and Sanchez famously feuded during the final stretch of the 2011-12 season and the wide receiver was benched in the final game of the season.
Both players though are working to improve their relationship this offseason.
Sanchez and Holmes had dinner together early in the season. Holmes even invited the quarterback over to personally practice with him before the start of the voluntary workouts.
It seems that things are getting back to normal between the two Jets stars who, before last season combined brilliantly to lead the franchise to consecutive American Football Conference (AFC) Championship games.
The Jets ended last season with an 8-8 record and missed out on the playoffs for the first time since head coach, Rex Ryan took over the reins of the franchise.
The franchise is now looking to get back in the playoffs in the 2012-13 season and brought in quarterback, Tim Tebow as backup after a trade with the Denver Broncos to execute a plan B in the offence.
New York Jets now have taken the first step to building locker room harmony and hopefully this season will be completely different from the last.
