New York Jets win third straight 38-14 over Buffalo Bills
The New York Jets were firing on all cylinders as they won their third straight game with a 38-14 rout of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
First half
For the second straight week Jets opponents decided to defer the kickoff and allow the Jets first possession, and for the second straight week the Jetsturned that opportunity into seven points. LaDainian
Tomlinson started off the scoring with a one-yard run to the house after a nine-play, 63-yard drive.
The Jets went into half-time well in control and up 17-7 after totally dominating the first half in terms of total yards and time of possession. The only bright spot for the Bills in the first half came
just at the end of the second quarter when Ryan Fitzpatrick brought the team 64 yards on seven plays. Prior to that scoring drive, the Bills had only managed 22 total yards in the half on a mere four possessions.
Second half
Despite being given a lifeline before the start of the second half, it was a case of Murphy's law for the Bills in the third quarter as the Jets seized control of the game by scoring three touchdowns over
a span of under four minutes. Sanchez and Brad Smith (in at quarterback any time the Jets use the wildcat formation) each threw touchdown passes to tight end Dustin Keller before veteran running back Tomlinson went on a 26-yard charge to the end zone for his
second touchdown of the game.
The Bills did manage to put together another 79-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter, but by then the Jets second team offence was in the game, as veteran QB Mark Brunell came in to give Mark Sanchez
a rest, and rookie running back Joe McKnight had a chance to get some experience running the football in place of LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene.
Game analysis

After failing to have a running back run for 100 yards in the first three weeks of the season, the Jets got themselves back to what they do best as both Tomlinson and Greene ran for over 100 yards. In
fact, the Jets had more yards rushing than the Bills had total yards on offence.
Sanchez was once again safe and efficient with his throwing as he has now thrown eight touchdowns without giving up an interception.
The Bills, who had had no trouble moving the football against the Patriots prompting coach Chan Gailey to pass the reigns at quarterback from Trent Edwards to Ryan Fitzpatrick, showed only brief signs
of life against the Jets. The 0-4 Bills have some work still to do on both sides of the ball,
"We were a bad football team," Gailey said. "You play that way, you're not going to win. You're not going look decent in this league. Today, we were awful."
