New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers: NBA teams depleted by injuries -- Part 5
New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have been great so far this season but they have been without their second leading scorer and top defender. Yes they have winning lately and Carmelo Anthony is red hot these days and is carrying them time again
and again, but a team based on phenomenal individual players don’t succeed in the long run.
To be honest the Knicks have been hit quite hard by injuries, their back up defender Iman Shumpert is still recovering from a torn left ACL. Amar'e Stoudemire has not been able to play any part this season and is recovering from
a debridement surgery in his left knee.
Rasheed Wallace is also out with no hopes of coming back soon and Marcus Camby is also out with a strained left calf. People will argue that the Knicks are doing great this season and do not deserve to be on this list, but they
don’t realize that the Knicks will have to face an uphill task of balancing the team roaster when their original starters start recovering from their injuries one by one.
It will be a major test of Coach Mike Hudson’s ability to adjust the team roaster keeping the team chemistry intact as the season progresses.
Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia 76ers have been missing their top man Andrew Bynum a lot this season. Initially it was thought that it was just a "routine knee injection" for Bynum.
Then it was reported that he will back in November and the expected time for his return just kept on extending. Now much to the dismay of the Philadelphia fans there is no timeline for his return and the Sixers keep on suffering
without their star centre.
Jrue Holiday has a great season so far, but he has already missed 4 straight games for the Sixers as he battles a left foot strain. With both their best players missing, the Sixers have struggled to make an impact this season and
they will be looking for the speedy recovery for both of them as soon as possible.
They are 0-4 without Holiday this season, and 12-14 without Bynum.
