New York Knicks eyeing veteran forward Grant Hill - NBA Report
The New York Knicks have been a franchise on the move this off season. With their new neighbours, the Brooklyn Nets, making one acquisition after another to pack a punch, the Knicks have also been on a shopping spree and the latest
on their list is the veteran forward Grant Hill.
The franchise boasts off a more than decent offense, but except Steve Novak, there is nobody to consistently impact the game from the perimeter. The franchise has been attempting to add some steel to that aspect and recently met
with the ex- Phoenix Suns player.
Frank Isola of New York Daily News tweeted earlier about the development.
“The Knicks recently met with free agent Grant Hill in Las Vegas, sources tell the Daily News”.
Hill is about to celebrate his 40th birthday but even at the twilight of his career, he is fit. During his last season with Phoenix Suns, he started 46 of 49 games and averaged 10.2 points and 3.5 boards, before getting
his knee injured. He has a minor procedure in late March and was not able to carry on for the rest of the season.
If the Knicks do succeed in roping him in, Hill will be the fourth veteran to make it to the Big Apple this offs season. The knacks have shown a clear penchant towards veterans. They pursued Steve Nash to start with but ended up
with Jason Kidd, who came over from the Dallas Mavericks. They also acquired Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas and have formed an experienced and deep bench.
The second oldest player in the game is still a formidable defensive option. Just in the last season, he averaged 28.1 minutes per game and for the Knicks his presence means extra rest for Carmelo Anthony and Amare’ Stoudemire.
