New York Knicks forward Amare’ Stoudemire hopes to play in game 4 against the Miami Heat: NBA Update
On Thursday night Miami Heat handed the 3rd defeat to New York Knicks while Amar’e Stoudemire watched from the bench in street clothes with his left hand in a sling.
He hasn’t touched the ball since Monday, the day he got himself injured by hitting the glass in a fire extinguisher box. His participation in the upcoming game is still in limbo as the interim Coach Mike Woodson
said that it’s day to day with him.
"He's not able to do a whole lot of anything right now. “Coach said on Thursday. "I just think it's day to day with him. I think the doctors are going to determine if he plays or not."
After witnessing the ignominious defeat Amar’e hoped that he will make it for game 4.
"I persevere through a lot of injuries," Stoudemire said. "And I work hard to recover from injuries. So by the hands of the most high, hopefully, I'll be ready to play for Sunday."
Stoudemire may want to play but the fact is the laceration that has resulted due to the cut inside his palm will take some time before healing and as things stand, it will be too late by then. Knicks are already
on the brink of elimination and one more loss will mean that they will have to pack their bags for good.
The Knicks are already playing without Jeremy Lin and Iman Shumpert and with the Heat in such an imperious touch; the Knicks stand little chance if stopping them. This is the second consecutive post season in
which Stoudemire has bailed out. Last time it was the back pain, but time his own silliness has landed the Knicks in trouble.

Stoudemire had also missed 13 games in the regular season due to bulging disk in his back. This has by far been the worst season of his career and perhaps he is desperate to salvage some pride. Mike Woodson however
has made it very clear that his return in the 4th game will depend upon doctors’ approval.
“I know there's been talks, but I think that's going to be a doctors' decision there," Woodson said. "He just had his hand worked on.”
