New York Knicks interested in Steve Nash

Although the Phoenix Suns have denied the rumours, the New York Knicks have expressed their interest in acquiring two-time MVP Steve Nash, and they are planning to talk with Suns officials
regarding his availability.

New York Knicks president Donnie Walsh said that they will look at every possibility to improve their team, including trading for Steve Nash, after dropping seven of their first ten games
of the season, despite making a huge roster revamp during the off-season.

“If you can do something to make the team better, you do it,” said Walsh. “That's pretty obvious. But in the meantime, you've got to play games, you've got to play the right way, you've got
to get better and that's where we are.”

If a deal pushes through, Nash will be reunited with his former coach Mike D’Antoni and former pick-and-roll partner Amar’e Stoudemire, making the Knicks more formidable since the three of
them had a lot of success when they worked together in Phoenix.

But D’Antoni declined to talk about it, saying that the Suns are not interested in dealing Nash, but when Phoenix decides to go in a different direction, the veteran coach said that he’ll
definitely try to convince his former point guard to play in New York. But for now, he and Walsh are focused on improving their team after a lack-lustre start.

Walsh said that their slow start could be attributed to their lack of chemistry, after bringing in 10 new players in the team, but he is still optimistic that they will be better squad once
they get into the groove in the latter part of the season.

“I knew this was going to be a tough month, with guys learning how to play together,” said Walsh, who also took the blame with their 3-7 start this season. “We're playing against good teams,
we're playing away from home a lot and we just have to work our way through it. And we've got to find out what type of mental strength we have.”

The Knicks are currently on a five-game losing skid, and they will try to snap that streak when they travel to Denver to face the Nuggets on Tuesday 16 November.
