New York Knicks rising star Jeremy Lin praises Carmelo Anthony - NBA Update
With the emergence of a new star in Jeremy Lin, New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony all of a sudden has become a villain in the eyes of the media. Talk has erupted recently that Carmelo is a selfish player and his inclusion in the team is going to
disrupt the healthy progress of Knicks in the upcoming games.
Whatever the media says, Lin still thinks very highly of Anthony and in fact he is thankful to him for giving the biggest opportunity of his life. Lin also completely denied the notion that he and Carmelo would not be able to gel.
"Some people are talking about, 'Oh, can Melo adjust into the system?' I mean, Melo wants to adjust to the system, and he doesn't want to shoot 30 shots a game. The fact that he vouched for me shows a lot about him."
Lin praised the scoring and playmaking abilities of Anthony and added that he would enjoy playing in the Knicks improved pick and roll game. According, to Lin, Anthony is a versatile player and adjusting to the new style of play would not be a problem for
him.
"You can pretty much give him the ball in any situation, in any circumstance, and he'll make something good happen," Lin said. "I think that's the beauty of having him on the team. He's going to add a different dimension. There will be times where we'll
have to figure it out and adjust, but we're definitely going to do that”
Lin also talked about his sudden rise to stardom.
According to him, it was tough and frustrating at the start of the season because he was not able to display his talent fully, however he is now extremely satisfied with how things have turned.
Lin started his career with Golden State Warriors in 2010 and it was a pretty horrible start. In the 29 games that he played, he only managed to average 2.6 points. He was then traded to Knicks and things did not change much as he was not able to impress
anyone much in his first few games.
However, in last two weeks, all that has changed and now, he is being perceived as the next big thing in the NBA. If Carmelo comes back and fits into the new system, he and Lin could become an unstoppable combination.
