New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin not likely to return for Game-4 against Miami Heat – NBA Update
The New York Knicks were hoping to receive some good news on the injury front with multiple players out, but it now seems at least one is still far from making a full recovery. It had been speculated that point guard Jeremy Lin could make a return in game-4
of the Knicks Eastern Conference first round playoffs series against the Miami Heat but the player has now ruled out the possibility.
Lin said he still isn’t comfortable in practice and his injured knee isn’t allowing him to play to his full potential.
"I don't think the timing - I'll probably get one more day of contact maybe in between now and the next game, and I haven't been able to really load it or jump or explode or drive by somebody the way I want to," Lin said. "So it's going to be longer than
that."
Jeremy was injured at way back and was believed to be out until after the first round of the playoffs. He has recovered faster than expected however, meaning that he is in contention for a return during the matchup.
The player underwent surgery on his knee on April 2, bringing an end to the regular season campaign for him in what proved to be his breakout year. Jeremy went from being an undrafted player to a global sensation when he burst onto the scene with the Knicks,
leading the franchise to 7 straight victories, single handedly orchestrating resurgence for the flailing team.
His worth to the Knicks cannot therefore be questioned. The guard still isn’t sure when he will return, ruling out game 4 and even failing to commit on game 5.
"I don't really want to say I am or am not, I just want to take it day by day," he said. "Game 4 doesn't look great. I mean, Game 5, I have no idea."
The Knicks are down 3 – 0 in the series currently and a loss to the Heat in their next encounter at the Madison Square Garden could meant that the team heads home without Lin having the chance to make an impact at all.
