New York Mets beaten by Miami Marlins 2-4 as Jonathon Niese leaks four runs - MLB Update

The starter Jonathon Niese gives up four runs in six innings as the New York Mets are defeated 2-4 by the Miami Marlins at Citi Field, New York in the first game of the three match series on August 7, 2012.
The fourth inning run-spree by the Marlins ensured victory for them. Except for this inning, they were scoreless throughout the game.
On the other hand, New York struggled to catch up on the Marlins’ score as their hitters did not send greater number of base-runners on the home plate, despite striking nine hits in the match. Apart from two runs in the fifth, Miami’s pitchers offered them
nothing more than this.
The Marlins employed variety of hurlers in the game. Their starter Wade LeBlanc, who has been promoted for this job from being a relief pitcher earlier in the season, was withdrawn after four innings.
Chad Gaudin succeeded him. As soon as he finished his single inning, he was replaced with Carlos Zambrano. Similarly, the Marlins kept changing pitchers after almost every inning.
The strategy of using hordes of hurlers in one game apparently has worked for the Marlins’ manager Ozzie Guillen, because Mets were unable to adjust to different types of throws.
Meanwhile, Mets’ offensive woes are worsening after every game. Their left fielder Jason Bay is battling with poor run of form in the season.
Earlier he was troubled by the injuries and was unable to play for the team, but right now he is struggling to carry out the job that he is assigned by the management.
Mets’ manager Terry Collins will be conscious of the dismal batting average that Bay maintains in the season. He can come up with any decision about Bay and may even scratch him from the line-up if his poor shows continue.
Similarly, Bay is aware of the fact that he has not lived up to the requirements of the team.
"I'm trying to be a realist with all that's happened," Bay said. "I'm not always the best option. This didn't blindside me. I've had some time to digest this. I don't want to be a distraction."
As for the next two games in the series, New York will be expecting their batters to post sufficient number of runs so that the pitchers can have leeway to defend them.
