News is coming that the New York Mets’ received a blow as their outfielder Jason Bay has been put onto seven-day disabled list due to a concussion.
However, some sources are also claiming that his seven-day disabled list can be prolonged with the amount of complexity in his injury.
Recently team manager Terry Collins has also spoken in the media and revealed somewhat actual potential timings of his player. He explained that this is certainly a crucial period when the Mets are looking their way forward into the post season qualification while Bay had to go onto DL for at-least a week.
Veteran Scott Hairston on the other hand, is replacing Bay as he featured against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday and played well in his senior player’s absence.
Later Terry Collins stated officially and told reporters about the recent situation of his player, “I’m very worried because Jason’s first one was pretty severe, and he hit that wall pretty hard (Friday night), He’s pretty sore, real sore. I don’t know how long it’s going to be, but my guess is it is certainly going to take a little bit of time,”
In an another statement, Collins said for his outfielder who is currently unavailable for a week but still can be useful for the upcoming games, “Nobody’s dealt with more bad luck than Jason Bay has, He was a huge part of those lineups in Pittsburgh and Boston before he came here and he probably put too much pressure on himself. I’m not sure what it’s gonna take, given the severity of the injury.”
Before getting injured, Bay was playing quite well for the Mets. He was hitting with .187 along with four home runs, six RBIs and .253 OBP.
Bay who has been playing for nine years, is certainly a great player and his injury at this time of period, can cause more suffering to the Mets.
Experts believe that the way New York Mets are playing lately is a good sign but with very little arsenal of talented player will not be giving them extra hand towards qualification for the post season spot.
